Hi!
Today my discussion will be based on this video: Beginner Eye Makeup Tricks, by the makeup chair. Unless you watch the video, it might be a bit confusing what i am talking about. Let's get right into it shall we?
OK, step one: Apply eye primer. This is important. Why? 1. It helps keep your makeup on all day as well as keep oils from making creases, 2. It helps moisturize, and 3. If you buy the right one, it helps keep "smile" (you know the little wrinkles you get in the corners of your eyes??) wrinkles at bay! Another suggestion she makes is "to take some of your concealer and to set as a base with a powder to keep it lasting longer".
Step two: Pick your eye shadows. She suggests three to four different shades, a highlighter, which is lighter
than your skin tone. She suggests at least one shade, but i prefer at least two shades lighter. Next, she suggests a "matte mid tone" shadow to help smooth things out and blend things together. Three, this one is important. You need a contour shade. "This should be at least two to three shades darker than your skin tone" she says, and it helps create shadows. They are using a fourth shadow, a black one. As she does, it is important to go lightly with this one.
Step three: Pick your brushes. She uses double ended, I don't have those, but I can get by with just three for this look. I have a eye color brush, and eye crease brush, and an eyeliner brush, bigger than your normal eye liner brush. You can look at the brushes I am talking about here.
I use my brushes a little differently, as i don't have a flat brush. I take the color brush and dip it lightly in water, rub it off on my hand. Then I swirl the color brush in the color I am about to use. After that I clean the brush and do the next color. Watch the video to see how she does her eyeshadow, it really is amazing.
Important: Blend in from the outside! This is very important so as not to get makeup all over.
Step four: Curl you lashes, if you want, and put on mascara. I also put a little dark eyeliner on to help my eyes pop. She makes another important point, "don't pump your mascara". What I do is I take my mascara, open it, and pull straight out. Afterwards i wipe my wand to decrease the chance of clumping. It really helps. It might feel like you are wasting product, but it is worth it to wipe it off.
One more thing: If you want your eyes to look bigger and bold, put a dark eye liner on the top lid, outside the water line. Then on your bottom lid take an eye crayon or eye pencil that is white and apply it to your water line. Wipe the excess and Viola! Bigger bolder eyes!
Thats all for today, again check out the video! She has other great videos subscribe to her channel!
I will be coming out with videos soon, I will keep you posted!
